Have you ever wondered why a horse when backed into red hot favouritism often goes and loses..?

Well - it is a very strange phenomena that occurs quite often.

I have yet to be able to pinpoint exacttly what the reason is but it appears one theory is that too many people put too much faith in one horse without actually giving any serious consideration to any of the others in the race.

Which obviously means that it is a biased view the punters take and when they vote with their money - i.e. put large amounts on the one horse they have most faith in, that horse becomes the favourite whether it is a true fav. or a false fav.

Just remember - it is the weight of money that forces the price of the favourite down and that means all the other horses are pushed out in price.

This unfair bias of money forcing a horse to become a fav. does not mean that horse is more likely to win.

Never - it is in my opinion that many punters under-estimate other horses in the same race which results in favs. getting beat and allowing outsiders to win.

Anyway - this trend will continue and will always create false favs. but ultimately it is our job to check every horse in the field to make sure we have not left out a possible winner.

After all we are going to be backing a horse with our own money...
